So who's right?

You ever get sick and tired of being relevant?
-Relevant means that someone else got there first and your trying to connect. We as a church need to stop being relevant and start leading the way.

2000 years of church makes me think, what is biblical and what's been created simply by opinion, supposed revelation, and conviction?

Notice how Peter had to clarify the theology of baptism.

Acts 2:38, "Peter said to them, repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins; and you will recieve the gift Holy Spirit" 61AD. (You could imagine that people thought they needed to be baptized to be saved).

1Peter 3:21, "corresponding to that, baptism now saves you-not the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good conscience- through the resurection of Jesus Christ" 63AD. (You could imagine what they thought when they found out baptism doesn't save you).

Things change, so what's right? Feel free to answer this subjectively or objectively if you have a thought!

  1. We know that ALL scripture is inspired by God. When the multitude had learned that they had crusified the Son of God, they were cut to the heart and asked Peter, "what shall we do?" Peter said, REPENT and let EVERYONE of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ FOR the remission of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. (to do anything less than what the apostle Peter instructed through the instruction of the Father would be preaching another gospel. As for 1Peter 3:21 - it is not the water that saves you but an obedient and submissive heart to God's will. Noah and his family were saved through water because of his faith and obedience to Father. Moses and the children if Israel were saved through water (parting of the Red Sea) through his faith and obedience to the Father. ALL examples of conversion in the Book of Acts includes baptism - plus the Great Commission says it all. Love in Christ, Sue
